7th Birthday
Aaron’s 7th birthday was on the day that we went camping at Woodlands, so the poor boy was unable to play or even look at his present properly until we came home again on the following Monday. He did get up nice and early though, so he could open his presents before school and he was very pleased with what he got. His presents included an Everton kit, a Lego Train Set, clothes, a book, Lego City Wii U game and some other little items. He also got a metal detector from Gramps and Nanny Helen which he took camping with us to try it out! 😉 We can’t believe he is 7 already though – the years have flown by with him.
Happy birthday Aaron!
6th Birthday
Aaron is 6 already! Unbelievable!
He was up bright and early on his birthday (which was a Thursday this year) and got us all up and downstairs to open his presents. He had lots of them as usual and liked them all. Some of the presents that he had this year was a Jungle Patroller (from Paw Patrol), clothes, books, money, a Topps football card collection folder, the full Everton team in the Topps football cards, some lego sets, a Playmobil boat and car to pull it, a nano skateboard and ramp, a remote controlled car and many other great stuff. He went off to school very happy that morning but couldn’t wait to get home to play!
He had a few friends around for tea after School for a little party. Both Harry’s came, so did Archie and Aunty Alex came with Caleb. We put together some party food and they all scoffed that and had a good time. It was a very nice party and all the boys were very well behaved.
We didn’t go out for the day this year, as camping at Woodlands was also for Aaron’s birthday, but he had a great day and enjoyed all his presents!
Thanks to everyone that gave him a card, present or money! 😉
5th Birthday and Party
Happy birthday Aaron, how are you 5 already!?!
This year, Aaron’s birthday fell on a Wednesday so he had school during they day, which limited us to what we could do. He did manage to open up all his presents before school though and he was very pleased with the array of Paw Patrol figures and vehicles that he had (he is obsessed with Paw Patrol). His main present was the Paw Patroller from Mummy and Daddy, which he had been going on about for months! But he also had a selection of other Paw Patrol figures and vehicles that go with the Paw Patroller. So to say he was excited was an understatement! He also got a new chair, Pie Face, clothes, chocolate and sweets, books and a few other gifts. He was very happy with it all!
As usual, the birthday boy could choose what he wanted for tea, and because the weather was nice, he decided he wanted a BBQ up on Dartmoor, so that is what we did! Â We found a nice area to setup camp and had a nice BBQ and play with the football and scratch pad and ball. We all had a lovely time although there was a couple of hitches. Â Firstly, the lighter ran out so I had to drive to Yelverton to get a new one from the shop and then Aaron desperately needed the toilet, so Kelly had to drive him to the toilets in Yelverton. Apart from that, it was great!
The following Friday was Aaron’s actual birthday party with his friends, and it was held at Jump. It was a great two hours and the children were non-stop, apart from when they quietened down to eat their birthday food. Aaron chose to do football as part of the party, instead of a disco or party games, but some of the children were a bit too rough, so he ended up sitting most of it out. Typical Aaron! 😉 Generally, he had a good time though and got lots and lots of presents from the 13 other friends that went!
4th Birthday
This year, Aaron’s birthday fell on the first Bank Holiday Monday in May, so he didn’t have to go to school. He was quite pleased about this! 😉
The Saturday previous, went to Dingles Fairground and Heritage Centre at Lifton, for the day for his birthday day out. We all had a great time there and had several rides on the Dodgems, Roundabouts and other rides, as well as the very old 2p machines.
So on his birthday, we didn’t do anything like that, we just opened his presents in the morning (he was up quite early!) and then attempted a picnic in the car for dinner up on Dartmoor. Unfortunately, the weather turned and it was pouring down with rain, so we couldn’t get out of the car. It was a real shame as Aaron had had a new bike and new scooter for his birthday, and had taken his scooter along to ride.  We did have a good scoff in the car though before coming home again, with plenty of picnic food left over for tea. Before that, Grandma, Uncle Darren and Aunty Marina popped over to give him some presents.
Aaron had lots of really nice presents for his birthday including a new bike, new Minions scooter, some lego, some clothes, a Transformer, a Darth Vader outfit, a jigsaw, a game, some Minions stationery, money and several other items. Â He loved them all and whizzed through opening them, before settling down to play with them. Kelly also made him a Minions birthday cake, which was brilliant!
The following Saturday was his birthday party, so we booked out the Roborough Hall and hired a Minions bouncy castle for a couple of hours. The bouncy castle was great and Aaron was on it from the moment it had fully inflated, to the moment the company came to deflate it again! Â He had about 17 other children from pre-school and other friends and family come, and had a great time. Â They had party food as well and Kelly made him another Minions cake, just for his party. Â All the children (and some adults!) had a great time, and he got lots more presents! It was a very good party!
We just can’t believe that our little man is now 4 and will be going to big school in September!!
Here are some pics from his birthday.

3rd Birthday
This year was a bit different for Aaron’s birthday as Coby had just been born. This limited us to what we could do, but we still gave him a good time for his 3rd birthday!
The day before his actual birthday, we went to the National Marine Aquarium. Kelly and I hadn’t been there for years, and the boys had never been there before either. It was quite expensive to get in but by booking online previous to the visit, we managed to get some money off, and you are also free to return for no additional cost for the next 12 months. Suffice to say, Ben and Aaron loved it there! Â They enjoyed looking at all the various fish and may have actually learnt what a few of them were! We had lunch there as well in the Cafe, which was expensive but nice, and there was also a soft play area in the Cafe for children to go and play in before and after eating. The boys were playing in that for the entire time that we weren’t eating, and enjoyed it very much. Â There were a few people there but not that busy. Â After our food, we went and had another look around and basically retraced our steps. This was mainly to get our money’s worth for the day as if it was just Kelly and I, we could have gone around in less than half an hour. All in all, it was a very enjoyable time and Aaron enjoyed this day out for his birthday, and Coby (on his first proper trip out) was good as gold.
On his actual birthday (on the Sunday), we were up very early (mainly due to Coby anyway) and went downstairs. As soon as Aaron went through the front room door, he became very excited to see all his presents and cards ready for him on the sofa, as well as the decorations around the room. We had to tell him to calm down as he skipped straight over and almost started to rip into his presents! He had some lovely gifts such as a Leap Pad with a game, some new clothes, a Power Ranger figure, a Cars playset, a Batmobile, a Batman figure, money, a large and small Captain America figure, a Captain America fancy dress suit (which is really cool and looks great on him!) and many other things. He enjoyed them all and played with them as much as he could. He also got plenty of cards, but he wasn’t as interested in those! 😉
Over dinner time, we held a little party for him for a couple of hours, with some party treats to eat.  A few of his friends came such as Lucia, Grace, Charlie, Declan, Ella and Kian (as well as their Mum’s). The children were running riot around the house but all had great fun. Luckily the weather was very nice, so we put some mats and a rug outside and the children had a picnic on it. They loved this! Aaron got some more lovely presents such as a car set, Spider-man colouring in set, some sweets and a couple of other little things. After the two hours were up, everyone left after having a great time, but we were shattered as we then had to clear up and hoover up the mess! 😉
Later on in the afternoon, Grandma, Grandpa Tony, Uncle Darren and Aunty Marina popped in to give Aaron his presents. At this point, I don’t think he could believe that he had any more presents to open! 😉
All in all, Aaron had a lovely birthday weekend, and I was quite relieved that it fell during my paternity leave, so I could soak it all in properly without having to worry about work!
Thank you to everyone who gave him cards and presents!
