Year 4 Camp and Cook
Last week, Aaron went on a 1 night Camp and Cook trip with his class at School. He had to take a bag with his clothes and sleeping stuff in to school and they got a bus from school to the place near Dartmouth. They were to sleep in a wooden hut for the night and he was in with a few of his other friends. One of his friends tried to sneak some chocolate in for a midnight treat for them all, but was caught by a teacher! ha
Year 4 Camp and Cookha The teacher didn’t take it all though, so they still had a little bit of chocolate! During the night, Aaron was, apparently, snoring very loudly which kept his friends awake and they were able to lift his arm up to look at the time on his watch without him noticing! That is typical Aaron! Any
way, he had a great time and enjoyed the activities that included den building, cooking pizza and bread over a fire and other general outdoors stuff like he does for Cubs. He was absolutely shattered and filthy when he got back though and had to go straight into the shower to clean off!
Orienteering School Trip
During the last full week of term, Aaron had a trip to Central Park to do some orienteering. Kelly went along to help as well and they were tired out by the time they got back to School. Kelly had to have a check done on her before she could go as she was given several children to look after by herself! She passed that Ok and had to have a meeting with the School admin manager as well beforehand! The weather was warm that day and they ended up walking miles around Central Park looking for specific points on a map. Aaron said that he enjoyed it, especially as they could take money for an ice cream, but wasn’t in Kelly’s group as they usually put parents with other children for some reason. They were there for the entire school day so took a packed lunch as well (so did Kelly) but were hungry by the time they got home! It seemed like a fun day anyway and Aaron was pleased that Kelly went with them.
School Trip To Dartmoor Zoo
This last Tuesday, Aaron had a School trip to Dartmoor Zoo, and he loved it!
There was a slight issue beforehand though, as a newly arrived Lynx at the Zoo escaped which caused the Zoo to shut down for a day or two to enable the staff to try and recapture it (it hasn’t been recaptured yet!), so they weren’t sure if they were still going to be able to go or not. It turned out that they could though, as the Lynx wasn’t any danger to humans as it is only small, so they went as planned. The weather was, unfortunately, a bit damp and dreary, but he said that he enjoyed the day very much! 😉 We couldn’t really get any more info out of him than that! haha
