PostHeaderIcon Swimming Update

Aaron has been getting better and better at swimming, even though he is still in Stage 1.  He has conquered his fear of trying to lie on his back after several months where he wouldn’t do it, so that was a big milestone.  He is almost ready to go to Stage 2 and is about 85% through so hopefully it won’t be too long into 2016 before he moves up a level.

PostHeaderIcon Reading and Writing

After not even a full term at School, Aaron has now moved on to reading basic CVC books with words such as cat, dog, rat and sat.  He seems to be enjoying learning to read and gets very excited when he learns a new letter and tells us straight away when he gets home. Hopefully he will carry on with this and get to a really good level by the end of the reception year.

He is also doing really well writing and can easily write his name now. He seems to love practicing his words and, like his reading, he gets excited when he learns how to write a new letter and shows us as soon as he gets home. Long may it continue! Well done Aaron.

PostHeaderIcon Grandpa Tony

Unfortunately, after suffering a massive stroke in June, Grandpa Tony passed away last week.  Aaron was quite upset when we told him and has since burst out in tears every now and again, saying that he is thinking about him. I am sure this will pass with time, but Aaron will always remember him and the fun they had making paper aeroplanes and playing together. 😉

PostHeaderIcon Football Training Update

Aaron has been enjoying football training on a Friday evening at Goals, and has even been the manager’s assistant at times (because he is smaller than the rest he doesn’t feel as confident). He has scored a few goals as well but prefers to go in goal as he doesn’t have to run around as much then!

Last week, as we had booked a certain number of sessions, Goals put on a little party for the boys that included some food and drink and took place in one of their party rooms.  It was really good and the boys scoffed it all and were very tired afterwards (the food was after the training)!

It has been really good there and all the boys have enjoyed the training each week and are already looking forward to it restarting in the New Year.

When we went to Otter Nurseries recently, we found Santa’s Sleigh left behind for children to sit in and have photos taken of them, so that is what we did!
