Laser Tag 8th Birthday Party
The weekend after Aaron’s birthday, he had a Laser Tag party. He had done it a few times with other parties so wanted to have it for his own! They only provided the laser tag part of the party, so no food, so we had to sort that out and bring it along with us. Within the 2 hour party period, Aaron had 3 games of laser tag. As we had an extra player due to one of his friends not being able to go, Ben had 2 games and I had 1. We both won our games easily! haha Aaron had an awesome time there and loved the laser tag and spending time with his 12 friends who came when having the party food! They all had a good time although one of the boys managed to hurt his arm in one of the games and needed ice afterwards. Still can’t believe he is 8 years old though!
7th Birthday Party – Forest School
Aaron has his birthday party the weekend after his birthday this year (due to camping at Woodlands) and he had it at the Forest School at Saltram House. He had been to a couple of these before for other parties and had enjoyed them so he wanted to try this out this year, and it was great! The party lasted over 2 hours and Aaron and his friends (inc help from Mummy and Daddy) had to build a den out of branches and make sure they were water proof as at the end, water was thrown over them with all the children inside! (None ended up being fully waterproof!) Aaron also made a hedgehog out of mud and big fir cones, which was good fun, and they also had hot dogs and hot chocoatel They also all went on a forage around the wooded area to see what they could find. Everything was really good and went well, apart from Coby getting badly stung on his hand as he grasped some stinging nettles thinking they were tree branches. He was crying his eyes out!
Aaron had a great birthday party and got lots of nice presents from his friends that were invited. It was definitely a good idea to do this seeing as he is a Beaver and knows all about the outdoors now! The lady that ran the session also commented on how Aaron and the boys were very comfortably in the wood (as most of the boys go to Beavers as well). All in all, it was a little expensive but was excellent!
4th Birthday
This year, Aaron’s birthday fell on the first Bank Holiday Monday in May, so he didn’t have to go to school. He was quite pleased about this! 😉
The Saturday previous, went to Dingles Fairground and Heritage Centre at Lifton, for the day for his birthday day out. We all had a great time there and had several rides on the Dodgems, Roundabouts and other rides, as well as the very old 2p machines.
So on his birthday, we didn’t do anything like that, we just opened his presents in the morning (he was up quite early!) and then attempted a picnic in the car for dinner up on Dartmoor. Unfortunately, the weather turned and it was pouring down with rain, so we couldn’t get out of the car. It was a real shame as Aaron had had a new bike and new scooter for his birthday, and had taken his scooter along to ride.  We did have a good scoff in the car though before coming home again, with plenty of picnic food left over for tea. Before that, Grandma, Uncle Darren and Aunty Marina popped over to give him some presents.
Aaron had lots of really nice presents for his birthday including a new bike, new Minions scooter, some lego, some clothes, a Transformer, a Darth Vader outfit, a jigsaw, a game, some Minions stationery, money and several other items. Â He loved them all and whizzed through opening them, before settling down to play with them. Kelly also made him a Minions birthday cake, which was brilliant!
The following Saturday was his birthday party, so we booked out the Roborough Hall and hired a Minions bouncy castle for a couple of hours. The bouncy castle was great and Aaron was on it from the moment it had fully inflated, to the moment the company came to deflate it again! Â He had about 17 other children from pre-school and other friends and family come, and had a great time. Â They had party food as well and Kelly made him another Minions cake, just for his party. Â All the children (and some adults!) had a great time, and he got lots more presents! It was a very good party!
We just can’t believe that our little man is now 4 and will be going to big school in September!!
Here are some pics from his birthday.

1st Party Invitation
A couple of weeks ago, Aaron had his first party invitation. It was for his friend Harry’s 4th birthday and it was held in the village hall at Clearbrook. It was on a Sunday lunchtime so they had nibbles and drinks, and there was also a bouncy castle and a ball pall. They also played games and Aaron won musical statues and his prize was a Mike The Knight painting set, which he was very excited to tell me about! 😉 Kelly and Coby stayed with him, as we weren’t sure what he would be like on his own, but he was very good and played with all the other children, who were mostly from pre-school, so he knew them. He had a very good time and is looking forward to the next party that he is invited to! 😉
Aaron’s 2nd Birthday
Aaron’s 2nd birthday didn’t quite go to plan unfortunately! Ben managed to get Chicken Pox at the time so our plan of going to Pennywell Farm on the day before his actual party was cancelled as we couldn’t take Ben anywhere. At this point, Aaron didn’t have Chicken Pox either so it was a bit of a shame really.
On his actual birthday, which was a Saturday, we had planned to have family over and to do a BBQ. But due to Ben being ill, not everyone came in fear of catching it as well or passing it on to those who had never had it, although some people did still come and we still did a BBQ.
We were up a good time that day and went down to the front room which was all decked out in birthday banners, birthday balloons and presents for Aaron. He was very excited to say the least, and Ben was also very excited! We gave him a new garage set, a pack of cars, clothes, a wooden jigsaw and a couple of other things. He is obsessed with cars so he loved those, and I had to put the 3 level garage together straight away! He also opened the cards that had arrived for him but he was more interested in the toys!! 😉
Just after 12pm, family members started to arrive and give the little man their presents for him. He had lots of other things such as a couple of electronic Dinosaurs that talk to each other, books and games, remote controlled car, clothes, a car track mat for their bedroom and some money. At this point he didn’t know what to play with first and didn’t really eat anything much all day apart from biscuits as he was too busy playing!
All in all it was a good day, but it was a shame not everyone could come due to Ben being ill. The BBQ was good as well, as the boys always enjoy a BBQ, and Gramps got sunburnt even though he was wearing a jumper! Aaron had lots of nice presents and cards so thank you to everyone that gave him something! 😉
Here are some photographs from his birthday. We still can’t believe he is 2 already!!
