Train Trip To Teignmouth
We caught the train to Teignmouth and had a lovely day on the beach, on the pier in the amusements, in the fun fair and in the park. We topped it off with a nice meal at the Beachcomber restaurant where we sat outside overlooking the beautiful Teignmouth coastline. 🙂
Here are some photos of Aaron from the day we spent at Teignmouth in early August 2014.
Summer Update
The little man is growing big and strong now! Â He is getting quite tall and has a very cheeky smile!
Kelly gave him his first hair cut in July as his hair was getting very long and he looked like a proper surfer dude. She managed to do it when he was in the bath and he wasn’t too bad whilst she was cutting it. Â Once done, he looked a lot older though – not a little baby anymore, but a proper little boy. He does needs another trim now though!
Towards the end of June we had to change the height of the cot he sleeps in as one morning we heard a bang from the boys’ room and found Aaron lying on the floor. He had managed to climb out over the side of the cot and then fell to the flow. Â The poor chap was crying but it didn’t last too long. So we had to adjust the height so he couldn’t do that again!
He has been going to play group sessions with Kelly and Ben (when Ben hasn’t been at school) and had been enjoying them lots. He joins in and always eats the snacks which are there for the children.
In the past week or so he has started singing to himself. It is always ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ as this is what they sing at the play group sessions. He does the twinkling movements with his hands as well which is really cute!
Aaron is always fighting with Ben! Jumping on each other and rolling about on the floor. Usually until someone gets hurt and then there are tears and tantrums. Boys will be boys! 😉
He is teething quite badly at the moment. Mostly due to his back teeth starting to try and push through. It means he is dribbling loads and wakes up in the night a fair bit. Hopefully they will push through soon and be over and done with!
During the summer, when I was off work, we managed to visit several places including Paignton Zoo, Dartmoor Zoo, Dairyland, Pennywell Farm and we also took the boys bowling for the very first time.  Aaron enjoyed all of these visits and loved watching the animals at the various places. He also enjoyed bowling and participated by helping Ben roll the bowling ball down a ramp onto the alley.  He also enjoyed the sweets he had there! 😉  (I will be putting some photos of these visits on this blog in the next couple of weeks!).
He loves the Wii and always picks up a controller and pretends to join in when we are playing it. He has even had a few goes at bowling and has actually managed to get a few pins down on several attempts! Â He is also obsessed with the Game Boy Advance and always has to have this open and pressing the buttons when Ben plays with the DSi. Â A proper couple of gamers they are!
On the odd dry and warm day during the last few months, he has enjoyed going out the back and playing with our sand and water table with Ben. As you can imagine, they have had themselves covered in sand and soaking wet each time they have used it! But they have had good fun together!
It was also the first Olympics since he was born!
Well, come back soon for the photos and the next update! 😉
11 Month Update
The little man is getting bigger and bigger all the time now!  He is growing very well and doesn’t have any problems with eating at all. He would eat non-stop if he could though! 😉
He now has two teeth come through, the second making an appearance on the 2nd March, and they are both the ones on the bottom at the front. They are quite big now and very sharp so you don’t want him to bite you!
He is walking aided really well now, and seems to prefer walking around more than anything else. Â It isn’t as bad now as before as he has growing that little bit taller, so its not as back-breaking as it was to start with. It won’t be long before he lets go and toddles off on his own. Â Because he is taller and can stand up now, his walker is getting a bit small, so it won’t be long before that will be put away. He has already broken the vent in the kick board in the kitchen by ramming into it though. tut!
His favourite shows on TV are Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom and Peppa Pig. Probably because Ben watches them all the time! You can put the Ben and Holly theme music on at any point and Aaron will immediately stop and turn around to face where the music is coming from. Even if he is in a fit of tears, the music will cause him to stop and be quiet! lol  Kelly has some episodes on her phone for the car, just in case! He also likes the two bedtime songs that are played on Nick Junior just before 7pm.
Sleeping -wise, he has been on and off a lot recently. Teething hasn’t helped really but there has been several times when he has caused us to have hardly any sleep. Being in a room with Ben doesn’t help though, as Ben is a nightmare sleeper, so when he makes a noise, it wakes Aaron up. Ben is suffering from night terrors at the moment which means he is waking up lots crying and shouting, which obviously keeps Aaron awake as well. Â Hopefully they will grow out of it soon as we are all desperate for a good night’s sleep!
While we were up in Weymouth recently staying with Kelly’s family, we took Aaron to the beach for the first time. He loved it playing in the sand and even tried to eat it!! We bought him a little bucket and spade which he enjoyed playing with, and was digging out the sand with his spade. He seemed to enjoy it loads. Â Hopefully the weather will stay nice this year and we will be able to go a bit more often than the past few years!
He has had several colds this year (we all have actually), but is OK at the moment though a tad snotty still! Â Not sure how he is getting them all the time but it coincides with Ben starting School, so we think he has been bringing all the germs back with him. Â Aaron has had a couple of heat rashes though. The first time we thought it was Chicken Pox (it was going around the pre-school) but it turned out it wasn’t with the doctor saying it was just a virus. In a way we were hoping it was Chicken Pox as it is a lot better to get it out of the way now than when he is older.
